A popular Banksia for domestic and commercial landscapes. Leaves are relatively narrow with a lighter grey-green underside. Flowers are iconic cone-shaped and typically orange to yellow. This species grows to about 2 m tall but can grow taller in a shady location. It is widely distributed from Queensland to Victoria which demonstrates its adaptability to climate and soils.
